Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Altes Winzerhaus, I found it to be a welcoming retreat, particularly for families seeking a blend of comfort and accessibility. Nestled on the outskirts of Cochem, it offers a pleasant 10-minute walk along the picturesque Moselle River to the historic town center, making it easy for families to explore local attractions together. Our family appreciated the immaculate rooms, specifically one with a balcony that provided a quiet space to unwind, even if its view was somewhat limited. Breakfast was a notable highlight, with a wide variety of options that catered to all ages, which we enjoyed on the terrace whenever the weather allowed. The flexibility of the proprietor, who arranged a food box for us when our schedules conflicted with breakfast hours, demonstrated a thoughtful approach to hospitality. The hotel's location near a grocery store further simplified our stay. Altes Winzerhaus serves as an ideal base for families, balancing homely comforts with the charm of Cochem's surroundings. We left with cherished memories and would certainly consider returning for another family getaway.
